In October 2015, Indiana University launched HR2020 – a strategic initiative designed to ensure that Human Resources helps employees, departments and campuses accomplish their most important objectives, all while creating an environment where faculty and staff feel engaged in their work and valued by the university. As a part of this initiative, the university will build an HR community that fosters a strong culture, nurtures growth and delivers processes that are nimble and adaptive to meet the changing needs of our employees and the institution.
Human Resources has organized into three distinct parts:
The Centers of Expertise will be the experts that help design and implement plans, programs, and policies in the areas of Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Talent and Organizational Development, Employee and Labor Relations, and Healthy IU.
HR Operations will include a customer service care center to assist employees and departments with HR questions, processes, and procedures.
HR Business Partners are strategic advisors dedicated to specific departments, schools or campuses and work directly with the leaders and employees of those units to identify areas where Human Resources can help them create an engaging workplace, align their objectives and achieve their business goals.
